This type of heavy metal armillary sphere was used back in the 200 B.C. time period for astronomical readings. It is now used as a desktop sculpture or decrative piece. This one was made in the 1980's. It stands at 11" tall, 13" long and is 8" wide. I found this piece from a friend who was selling it in Eagle, ID.
