Early version of the curvilinear, segmented, loop that can be arranged into a multitude of minimalist sculptural form as a table sculptural. Vintage 1982 Richard X Zawitz Tangle abstract sculpture, curved 0.75" thick brass finish segments can be turned and twisted to create an infinite number of sculptures, original label attached. Inspired by the designer's immersive studies of Asian philosophy and based on the concept of the "endless knot" present in many Eastern cultures and religions. Richard X Zawitz, sculptor, inventor and Thaumaturgist, was born in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, a place long known for its steel industry and Andy Warhol. Zawitz’s early sculptural inclinations were deeply anchored in these in two inspirational elements. Zawitz attained a degree in Fine Arts sculpture, with additional majors in Asian Philosophy and Asian Art History from the University of Hawaii 1972.
