Tom Waldron (American, b. 1953). "Shard" Sculpture. Material: Steel. Inscribed and dated 'Waldron 89' near the base. Measures 7.5 in. high x 14 in. wide x 3.25 in. deep. Critique of the piece in the artist's words: "As an early sculpture of mine. . . it looks like it’s been well cared for, I don’t think it has deteriorated at all. I often used old, somewhat pitted steel back then, and the joints were kind of roughly finished. It’s always a bit of of a shock to me to see work from the eighties with that sort of crude look; most sculpture from back then I eventually changed. " Tom Waldron 08/2020.
