English Modern Chrome & Resin "Le Garcon" Mannequin by Lindsey B. England , Circa 1980s A rare iconic design of English Modern, The silver and black lacquered "Le Garcon" was created in the 1984 by renowned sculptor and ceramicist Lindsey Balkweill. This design was produced in three sizes: a table top 20 inch version, a life-size, 6 foot version and this the middle size version that clocks in at just under 40 inches. These "Le Garcon" figures were expensive when they were produced, relatively few were sold and even fewer have survived today. The figure whimsically stands on his tip-toes, leaning backwards to hold a salver of your choice, perfectly level. Supported on a two-tiered black lacquered wood pedestal base. This work is signed 'Lindsey B, copyrighted 1984' Overall Dimensions: The sculpture stands thirty eight inches high to the top of the sculpture, the tray height is thirty-seven and half inches high. The widest point is sixteen inches. The removable tray measures twelve inches in diameter The two tiered ebonized pedestal base has an eleven-inch diameter.
