Absolutely divine Virgin Mary Polychrome Carved Figure. Spain or Portugal early 1800’s. Beautiful hand painted details, gilt robe with red and green floral motif, lifelike glass eyes, peaceful smile and illuminating face. She’s ascending with angels at her feet and hands clasped in prayer. Quite tall 26.5 inches. Heavy wooden piece. From the estate of an avid Spanish Colonial collector in Santa Monica.
