Jaroslav Wasserbauer was born in 1962 in the Czech Republic. His sculptures are made of melted glass, so-called cast glass, have a massive yet elegant shape. Wasserbauer finds an intriguing balance between polished and rough surfaces often enhanced by rugged edge. The matte and transparent areas each show their own play of lights.
