Beautiful alabaster sculpture of a charming young woman wearing a rose on her neckline. Signed A. Cipriani on the back. She is wearing a headdress and a greek-style top. This piece has been repaired and has a chip on one corner all shown in the accompanying images. Shows a lot of patina. Adolfo Cipriani was an Italian Impressionist & Modern sculptor who was born in 1830 and began his works in 1857 through 1930. Cipriani died in 1941. His works have been offered at multiple auctions with realized prices ranging upwards of $93,000 depending on the size and medium of the artwork. Since 2006 the record price for his works at auction is $92,500 for MARGUERITE, sold at Sotheby's New York in 2012. The artist was born in Florence, Italy.
