This sculpture depicts Mercury or Hermes, according to the Roman or Greek names for the gods. The original was sculpted by Giambologna in the 19th century. This museum-quality bronze statue was hand-cast in high-quality bronze using the lost-wax method on a black marble base by a Neapolitan foundry in the 1950s.
