Chairish

$1,659

This elegant Art Deco sculpture "Danse Païenne" is a remarkable example of French decorative sculpture from the 1930s. The work was created by Marcel Bouraine, one of the leading sculptors of the Art Deco era, and issued under the pseudonym Derenne, used for his art metal editions produced by the renowned Max Le Verrier foundry. The sculpture depicts a graceful nude dancer balancing a disc, capturing movement, rhythm and feminine elegance. The composition perfectly reflects the spirit of Art Deco through its stylised anatomy, flowing lines and harmonious proportions. Executed in art metal with a rich green patina, the figure is mounted on an exquisite Portor marble base whose dramatic black and gold veining enhances the luxurious character of the piece. Works by Marcel Bouraine are highly prized by collectors of French Art Deco sculpture, interior designers and connoisseurs of twentieth-century decorative arts. A sophisticated collector’s piece embodying the glamour and refinement of the Art Deco period. This piece has an attribution mark, I am sure that it is completely authentic and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
