Executed in finely cast spelter with a rich bronze-tone patina, this impressive 28-inch sculpture captures the romantic sensibilities and superb craftsmanship associated with the renowned Moreau family of French sculptors. The figure rises from its original decorative socle base embellished with Rococo-inspired ornamentation, lending the piece a grand architectural presence suitable for a mantel, console, library, or curated collection of European decorative arts. Finely cast with impressive detail, the figure features flowing drapery, expressive facial features, and a rich bronze-tone patina that highlights the sculptural modeling.
