Comparable sculptures date the sculpture toward the end to the Victorian period (c. 1900s). The sculpture captures the girl carrying a fruit basket on a blustery day, her hair and shawl billowing in the breeze. The hand-carved socle/base features a grass motif that cushions the girl's bare feet. The sculpture is in fine condition and displays a desirable aged patina, its surface in good order throughout.
