Art Deco Figural Ivorine Sculpture After Ferdinand Preiss, Circa 1925 A graceful Art Deco–style figural sculpture after the works of Ferdinand Preiss, depicting a standing female nude with flowing drapery and raised arms in a poised, classical gesture. The figure is executed in an early composite material developed as an alternative to ivory (often referred to as “ivorine” or celluloid-based composition), showcasing warm tonal variation and fine detailing throughout the facial features and drapery folds. The sculpture is signed “F. PREISS” at the base. She stands atop a dark green circular plinth, which is mounted to an ornate gilt metal pedestal with acanthus leaf detailing. The metal base adds architectural presence and gives the piece strong verticality and display appeal. The pose, elongated proportions, and theatrical drapery are characteristic of early 20th century Viennese and German Art Deco sculpture inspired by Ferdinand Preiss’ celebrated works. A striking decorative statement piece ideal for a pedestal, console, or vitrine display. ⸻ Details Height: 14 in Base Diameter: 4.5 in Materials: Composite (ivory substitute) figure Gilt metal pedestal Green plinth Signed: F.
