This glass sculpture inspired by distant atolls belongs to the Le Città Invisibili Collection, a series of decorative pieces inspired by the landscapes evokes in Italo Calvino's book by the same name. Encased under a bell jar made of clear glass, a rigid dome - coated with micro-cement resin and decorated with hematite sand - supports the selenium red filaments in Murano glass extending upwards. A footed, swivel wooden base also covered with resin and decorated with a silvery, spatula finish seals the look.
