Clay is the name of the collection designedby Andrea Trimarchi and Simone Farresin.The name is now highly associated withthe project. The designers drew inspirationfrom sculptures created by Aldo Londiin the 1980s and used a material‑basedresearch approach as a pivotal elementof the new project. The process reignssupreme, with the lathe shaping theform to a new thickness. Cylinder vasesand disc bowl are engraved from the topvertically, producing sections that arethen “torn” by hand, creating each elementwith uniqueness. Colors alternate in eightoptions between matte white marbleand several pastel hues. The project wasinitially presented in 2018.
