This shiny bronze sculpture depicts a female centaur, combining a woman’s torso with the body of a horse. Created in 2012, it is cast in bronze with a gold patina and set on black granite, measuring 44 × 20 × 7 cm. Drawing on mythology and ancient legends, Aliev explores hybrid figures that blur the line between human and animal, evoking a sense of mystery and timeless narrative. The work was produced using the traditional lost-wax casting technique (cire perdue), reflecting careful craftsmanship from casting to chiseling and patination. Aliev, a Bulgarian artist living and working in Germany, belongs to a generation of artists who bridge traditional craftsmanship with contemporary artistic trends.
