Patinated bronze bust titled "Carmen", modelled by French sculptor Emmanuel Villanis (1858-1914), circa 1900. Signed "E. Villanis" on the shoulder and bearing the circular "Vrai Bronze Garanti Paris" foundry mark to the reverse of the socle. Depicts a young woman with an upswept coiffure and ornamental comb, wrapped in a draped shawl, on an integral tapered pedestal titled "Carmen". A compact, cabinet-scale Belle Epoque piece with a warm brown patina and good antique condition, with wear consistent with age.
