A poetic and charismatic environmental assemblage sculpture by dutch-australian artist tom de munk-kerkmeer, created in the 1990s. Formed from naturally weathered wood combined with subtle interventions in pigment and texture, the work has a powerful anthropomorphic presence part spirit figure, part ecological relic. balancing on a solid geometric base, the sculpture has an almost weightless posture, as if caught between movement and stillness. The carved head, soft facial expression and heart-shaped accent inject a disarming humanity, whereas the found-wood body preserves the organic history of the land it came from. It is a rare example of de munk-kerkmeer’s ability to merge nature, storytelling and contemporary sculpture. material wood, stone condition very good, with minimal signs of wear consistent with age. dimensions h 91 x w 45 x d 25 cm, base 18 x 18 cm i have official proof of authenticity such as vintage catalogs, designer records, or other literature sources and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
