This bold sculpture by Alessandra Mendini (2005) captures the versatility of Murano glass, merging traditional techniques with modern artistic character. The central element is a stylized face with eyes and a nose fashioned from two-tone opaline glass in black and white. The three accompanying wings are fashioned of multicolored glass layers, hand-applied while the piece is still hot. It is part of a limited edition of 119 pieces numbered in Arabic numbers and an additional five in Roman numerals.
