A very fine 19th Century sculptural bust in Alabaster or Marble of a young lady thought to represent Joan of Arc She is dressed in headscarf and a peasant style dress and displays a somewhat pensive mood. This is a beautifully sculpted item and is signed Bessie, presumably referring to Giuseppe Bessi though this signature may be apocryphal or from the school of Bessi.
