Green Buffalo Sculpture

Resting on a wooden base weighting as much as the sculpture that it supports, this sculpture features a striking image of a buffalo in a powerful stance. The sculpture is entirely crafted by Daniele Nannini using white clay distinctive for its kaoline content. After a partial drying and hardening phase, the object is hollowed out until it acquires a 1 cm-thickness and subsequently sanded. Before it is fired in the kiln, the artist coats it in clay and pigments, according to the traditional "engobbio" technique, conferring a vibrant green hue to the final piece.
