Josef Humplik (1888 - 1958) was active/lived in Austria. A very fine Art Deco sculpture of the racehorse. Mounted on period black marble plinth the delicate and fine form is shown almost a delicate as a fawn. Standing in a four-square stance with a shorn mane and bobbed tail. Made in an edition, this is marked 111/114 to the side of the bronze base. Obviously a very popular figure in 1913. Beautiful.
