Metallic meows! C.1970 brutalist cat sculpture created in brass and copper by French artist, JARC. Though I was unable to find detailed information about the artist, his work is defined by hand-welded elements and his favorite subjects are animals. The brutalist style and mid-century aesthetics are similar to Curtis Jere. This cat is amusing with a startled gaze and a curlicue tail. He is rather small in scale and would be perfect on a tabletop or as a decorative accessory in a shelf display. There is no apparent maker's mark though the sculpture bears all of JARC's typical details and artistic elements. Good vintage condition. One ear is bent back at the corner as shown in photograph 13. Measures 7.5" tall x 7.25" wide x 2" deep.
