Sculptor probably active in France at the end of the 19th century. The sculpture depicts a particularly famous subject by Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux (1827-1875), entitled "Le Rieuse napolitain", but bears the initials "A.C." on the back. We therefore believe that it is an unidentified sculptor who created a marble version of Carpeaux's sculpture which was probably in great demand at the time. On the nose the color is slightly darker. it is possible that restoration work was carried out in the past but it is not clearly visible.
