For its condition, please see all images uploaded in the listing. about the artist: born 1928 in měřín, czechoslovakia; died 2018 in prague, czech republic. 1947: high school graduation (abitur) at the *realgymnasium* in velké meziříčí 1947 - 49: studied art history at charles university in prague 1949 -54: studied at the academy of fine arts in prague under professor lauda from 1993 on: taught modeling at the faculty of architecture at the technical university in prague klimeš was - particularly during the 1960s - one of the most prominent representatives of the 'informel' art movement. klimeš rose to fame thanks to a metal sculpture situated in front of the czechoslovak pavilion at the 1958 brussels world's fair, for which he was even awarded the expo's grand prix. Among his other works, klimeš created the monumental sculpture located on prague's barrandov bridge.
