Sculpture depicting "La Renommée" in bronze with brown patina by Julien Causse. This young woman draped, bare shoulders, blows in a reed-shaped horn. She seems to be rising from a rock. Her hair is tied in a loose bun. The Renommée is an allegory personifying public recognition. The figure is signed on the base J. CAUSSE. The figure rests on a mobile base in red marble. Julien Causse (1869-1909) is a French sculptor known for his delicate female figures. He studied with Alexandre Falguière. He received an honorable mention at the Salon des artistes français in 1892 and at the Universal Exhibition of 1900. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
