This splendid bust in prized white Carrara marble owes its artful design to a famous quote by writer Luigi Pirandello stating that people are likely to meet more masks than faces during their life. A pessimistic conception of social interactions that yet has a poetic dimension as seen through the eyes of artist Angelo Salemi: overlapping masks are depicted protruding from the man's head and beautifully accented in gold leaf.
