Bust of Marie-Antoinette in bisque (hard porcelain) from the Manufacture Royale de Sèvres, mounted on an ornamented bronze foot. (Very slight accident in the back). Signed and stamped Felix Lecomte (later). Félix Lecomte (1737-1817) sculpted Marie-Antoinette, then aged 28, in 1783. This sculpture is the official and most famous portrait of the Queen. Marie-Antoinette poses with her royal Fleur de Lys coat lined with ermine. Her high, trendy wig is decorated with flowers and ribbons. A work of art as well as a testimony to Marie-Antoinette's status as a trendsetter throughout Europe. This piece has an attribution mark, I am sure that it is completely authentic and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
