The Misia sculpture is a reclining female figure in the recognizable post-war British style. Here, the human figure fuses with organic forms such as shells, pebbles and bones. In an effort to move beyond war, these artists gravitated to pre-cultural and pre-rational inspirations. Particularly, they admired the monumentality and humanism of Toltec-Mayan sculpture. Our statue has distinctive voids together with the marks and texturing you might expect to see in a maquette for a larger work. 12"w x 5"d x 6"h Gold Leafed Iron/White Marble Base Bronze Finished Iron/Black Marble Base
