Figural Glass Paperweight, Murano, Italy, circa 2000Fused and kiln-formed art glass of square form. The cobalt blue body encloses a stylised profile head in textured gold leaf. There is a translucent red facial silhouette in relief. It is signed in white script to the lower right, “Vigliaturo.” This work is a striking example of the artist’s exploration of the human figure through layered glass. Moreover, it combines vivid colour, metallic inclusions, and sculptural depth.
