We appear as one individual, yet we are constructed from thousands of invisible fragments gathered throughout a lifetime.NEXUS explores that idea through form.Designed and handcrafted by sculptor Burak Ermiş, the sculpture transforms hundreds of individual steel components into a single human presence. Each element exists independently, yet none possess meaning on their own. Only through connection do they become something larger than themselves.The open structure allows light, shadow, and surrounding space to become part of the artwork, emphasizing the relationship between absence and presence. Depending on the viewer’s position, the sculpture continuously shifts between solidity and transparency, revealing new layers of its identity.Constructed from individually formed and welded steel elements, NEXUS reflects both industrial precision and human craftsmanship. The visible structure intentionally exposes the process of creation, allowing viewers to witness how complexity emerges from repetition and how unity emerges from fragmentation.More than a portrait, NEXUS is a meditation on identity itself—an exploration of how separate experiences, moments, and connections ultimately form the person we become.One form.
