A fine and large pair of early 18th century Baroque polychrome and parcel gilt putti/angels, Italy, circa 1700. This very attractive pair of Italian baroque putti are of large size, they are finely hand-painted, each putto being a true left and right with their arms outstretched, they both have gilded sashes draped over their shoulders and upper thighs. The putti hang on the wall and have a metal hook to the rear. The statues are made from limewood and are finely carved, much of the original paint and gilding is present with some small areas of repaint. The putti came from a grand palazzo in Florence dating to the late 1600s, condition is very good indeed. This very elegant pair of antique Italian Baroque carved putti are ready to hang on your wall.
