A gorgeous, bronze rendition of the ‘Flying/Galloping Horse of Gansu on a Dragon/Swallow”, Han Dynasty. The original was discovered in 1969, in Wuwei, Gansu province, China—it was dated back to the second century, AD. The sculpture captures a horse mid gallop, with one hoof resting on a flying swallow/dragon—symbolizing its speed and divine power—magnificent! While the sculpture is made of bronze, the piece does have a lovely verdigris patina, which is mounted in wood.
