Italian artistic ceramic, made on the Amalfi Coast, depicting a large, life-size shell called the "Pinna Nobilis" or "Nacchera," a Mediterranean sea shell. The artist painted the Blue Grotto of Capri on one side of the Pinna, and another common shell, a starfish, and coral branches on the base. The ceramic has some small defects, which are highlighted in the photos.
