Issa K. Diop is an artist born in 1948 in Senegal, West Africa. His father was a leading sculptor in that country. This is a Issa K. Diop 1977 Nude African Woman Bronze Sculpture. Signed on top of the base ISSA K. DIOP © 1977. This is a captivating bronze sculpture of a nude African woman. There is a large bowl on the ground in front of her, as she takes a drink from the ladle she holds in one hand. She hides an object behind her back with the other hand (not sure what the object is). She is sculpted in a provocative crouching position with one knee touching the ground and the other leg seductively fanned out. She is self-assured and inviting. The ladle is removable and measures approximately 3 inches long. The total weight is approximately 10 pounds 4.6 ounces.
