Crafted of white earthenware which acquires a delicate ivory hue after firing in the kiln, this sculpture actualizes an iconic moment in Greek mythology: the birth of Athena from the head of her father, Zeus. She fiercely emerges from his head donning her helmet while Zeus looks up at her, seemingly exhausted yet proud of such a miracle.
