This is a beautiful example of the Three Worried Men or Crying Buddhas statue. The carving is nicely done with better delineation of the muscle, fingers and toes than typically seen on most available for sale. Look closely and you will see the suggestion of hair on the heads of the three men. I believe this is an older carving accounting for the better than normal attention to detail. Probably carved in Bali, the belief behind the statue is that stroking the statue transfers the worries of the holder onto the statue. Wouldn't it be amazing if that were the case?
