Together Sculpture by Christian FriedlUnique Piece.Dimensions: D 80 x W 130 x H 122 cm.Materials: Beech, spruce.Together tell his story...More than 100 years of living in the middle of nature have made me what I am.Surrounded by my family of beech and spruce trees, I have grown into a tight oak tree in beautiful southeastern Styria. Despite my enormous strength and endurance, a storm brought me to my knees in the summer of 2020.My creator discovered me on a tour with his mountain bike and fell in love with me.An intimate and creative process makes me special and gives me a second life.The inseparable couple is born...In loving and careful handiwork, I am shared with the chainsaw, but I remain connected to my counterpart forever. My bark dress has been taken off me and inside I am formed into a sculpture. I get a new skin according to my age.It is brushed, treated with fire, and protected with natural oil.Whether under a roof in the garden, on the terrace or fully integrated into a living situaton. I will give my future ownwe great joy as his very personal couple`s object and be a loyal companion for generations.Christian FriedlLonging is a funny thing. Some people have it, others follow it - and sometimes it is the particularly difficult times in life that remind you of what lies dormant within you. That's exactly how it was for me. The path to this was marked by a break from crafting. After all, it was 23 years and hundreds of exciting projects that I implemented together with many great customers and architects before I grappled with the question of what my life still had in store for me just before my 50th birthday. And that is exactly what brought me back to my professional roots: working with the living and sustainable material wood. Over time, I discovered that I was not made for the system. Returning to this very special material showed me where the path leads, although for me the creative process with and around the material wood is the main focus.
