Vertical Artifact 013 is a one-of-a-kind concrete wall sculpture exploring gravity, erosion, and material tension. Pigment and mineral deposits are embedded directly into the surface, creating a layered field where dark vertical movement collapses into a muted, oxidized base. The upper portion reads as a controlled release—blackened drips and mineral streaking pulled downward—while the lower field settles into a softer, atmospheric gradient of green and stone tones. The composition shifts depending on light, revealing depth, surface variation, and subtle transitions across the panel.Cast and finished by hand, the piece is monolithic in construction with a thin architectural profile, designed to read as both object and surface. No two areas are repeated; the texture and coloration are entirely unique to this work.Created by Dylan Myers as part of the Vertical Artifact series, this piece reflects an ongoing investigation into controlled imperfection and the evolution of concrete beyond its expected form.
