Mid Century Brutalist Wall Sculpture in wire by William and Bruce Friedle. It has qualities similar to the work of Harry Bertoia and the Jere studio of the same period. Hundreds of long thin copper wire rods with blackened tips radiate from a molten bronze center with a highly textural surface. Front disc with irregular opening reveals recessed discs behind, giving the effect of a shining sun. This 41" diameter abstract sculpture has three layers which gives it a dynamic and dramatic depth and casts interesting shadows.
