Yoga Sculpture No. 3, Black

Design House Stockholm's Yoga sculpture captures the serene strength of a yoga practice, stretching beyond limits towards perfect balance. The ceramic figure, poised elegantly on a small bamboo mat, holds a flowing asana where movement and stillness, softness and strength, as well as light and shadow, come together. Crafted from unglazed stoneware, the Yoga series is ceramic artist Lisa Larson's heartfelt tribute to the ancient Indian practice of uniting body and mind. Having begun her own yoga journey in the 1970s, the Swedish artist sculpted these small clay figures in 1982 as a personal reminder of the soothing power of daily yoga. Over 40 years later, Larson's cherished sculptures found their place in Design House Stockholm's collection – ready to bring a sense of calm and beauty into the lives of yoga lovers and ceramic art enthusiasts alike.
