Young Girl Bust Statue By Attilio Torresini, Italy, 1930s

Chairish

$2,861

Nice bronze sculpture representing a young girl portrait, with a marble bottom. Its creator, Attilio Torresini, was an Italian sculptor, who learned the marble art from the marble worker father firstly and then to the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice. Among the sculptors active in Rome between the two wars, he is certainly the closest to the ''purist'' movement of the painters of the Roman School first phase. The intimate poetry of his portraits and naked shows a new compositional structure free from both Liberty stylizations and all kinds of monumental rhetoric. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
