Expertly refinished vintage roll top secretary desk designed by Andreas Hansen and produced by Hadsten Traindustri in Denmark c. 1980s. The desk is constructed from clear, quartersawn pine, entirely free from knots and other imperfections. The color and grain patterns resemble teak in its lighter forms. The tambour door opens to reveal a leather-clad desktop with six additional drawers and cubbies of varied sizes for assorted storage. The desktop pulls out to offer a full sized work station. The case of the desk and the drawers are constructed with exposed box joints throughout, creating a color contrast between face and end grain. A functional and beautiful piece that demonstrates pine can be used to create a modern look and feel, not just the knotty, traditional aesthetic it is generally known for.
