Secretary bookcase of mahogany with satinwood detailed interior; with green tooled leather writing surface on drop down desk; two lower cupboard doors of figured crotch mahogany (key locked) open to an interior with an adjustable mahogany shelf; upper glass mullioned doors (key locked) open to an interiors with three interiors adjustable mahogany shelves. The top false drawer with two figured oval crotch mahogany panels is also key locked and drops down on brass hinged mechanism to reveal an interiors desk surface of green tooled leather; the interior compartments for letter paper, envelopes, etc. and four small drawers are detailed in figured satinwood. Cast brass pulls throughout. This secretary is not an antique but was hand made in England in the 1990s. It was purchased new from the artisan workshop, Bevan Funnell, in England for display in our showroom. This secretary is comprised of two pieces: the upper display bookcase sits on and is attached to the lower case.
