Exceptional and rare “Entremanos” Secretary Desk designed by acclaimed Basque artist and architect Andrés Nagel for Akaba, Spain, 1988. The desk’s dramatic anthropomorphic steel back panel features two stylized hands — a playful yet sophisticated sculptural gesture that perfectly captures the expressive spirit of late 1980s postmodern design. Originally designed with integrated halogen reading lamps, this example is presented without the lamps installed, allowing the sculptural form of the hands to stand beautifully on their own with a cleaner, more minimal aesthetic. The original lighting configuration could also be reintroduced if desired. The central case section houses six small drawers ideal for organizing stationery and desk essentials, while the generously scaled writing surface features a contrasting inset leather writing panel for added functionality and visual depth.
