Antique Louis XVI style Bonheur du Jour Writing Chest with fall front chest which when opened reveals a small writing surface and storage area for stationery, books, etc. The chest sits atop a single drawer, raised on tapered legs with fluted columns, and carved florets adorning the top of each leg. Beautiful craftsmanship throughout, including book matched veneer panels, and gilt trim. This piece was likely crafted in the early 20th century as a reproduction of the feminine classic Bonheur du Jour first introduced in 1760 in Paris.
