The detailed marquetry work on the cylinder flap and drawer fronts is particularly impressive. The cylinder flap slides smoothly upwards, revealing a sophisticated interior. Here, a series of smaller drawers, open compartments, and a pull-out writing surface are concealed, all also embellished with fine wood inlays.
