Beautifully carved, country French Louis XV style secretary desk with hutch. Easily repurposed as a bookcase or Bar cabinet. This serpentine front desk is highly ornamented, having undulating apron with scrolling foliate motifs, two paneled drawers with ornate drawer pulls and escutcheon keyholes, and scrolled feet. Drop front has large serpentine panel design. Interior reveals multiple small drawers and even a "secret" compartment with 4 removable boxes. Upper hutch has arched double doors with chicken wire screens set into undulating panels. There are escutcheon key holes and two interior shelves. This impressive piece is completed by an arched top with exuberant cartouche form crest having additional scrolling foliate ornament, flowers and a large shell. Cabinet has maker's label in the back - Made for Bloomingdales in Italy. The hutch comes in 2 pieces. We have all 4 keys - 3 original and 1 replacement.
