An elegant mahogany writing desk from the English Navy, with brass decorations typical of this type of furniture. Beautiful brass ornamentation: corner brackets and reinforcements, a finely shaped keyhole escutcheon, and a central motif on the top. In the center, it features a medallion bearing the name of its first owner, Stevens. The writing desk opens to reveal two leather sleeves, two inkwells, and a pen holder. It also has a mechanism that, when activated, reveals a trapdoor with three drawers. The two-hook lock is functional and comes with its key. Beautiful patina and in magnificent condition.
