swedish 19th century painted pine escritoire writing desk circa 1870. we are pleased to offer this rustic escritoire, made from solid pine and hand painted on the outside using a rag work technique, which simulates grain. front with drop down fall and 3 graduating drawers to the front, each fitted with brass handles.  fall drops down to provide the writing slope and reveal a stunning interior painted in a contrasting green, which maintains it's original colour and patina.  central storage with a shaped front drawer above, flanked each side by a bank of 5 drawers. shaped freize running along the front bottom edge.  working lock and key. fall height: 29 1/4"
