This is a gorgeous mid 20th Century Writing Bureau Desk would complement many vintage home living room or office settings. Circa 1930. The bureau front displays a warm Elm patination that is sure to add a wonderful country charm to the home decor. This desk has a charming fall front that can be dropped to expose the striking interior with 7 pigeon holes, perfect for storing documents, papers, books or memorabilia. The slats can be pulled out to support the desk lid. When the top drawer is fully removed, the side slats are not supported, and can be freely removed from the desk. The front of the desk has three graduating drawers, perfect for linen or blanket storage. All of the drawers are finished with striking shaped metal drop handles. The bureau stands proudly on 4 solid bracket shaped feet. Overall, this writing bureau is in great condition, with slight signs of use and veneer wear and marks as to be expected from years of historical use (see photographs). There is a historical crack to the top of the desk which has been previously glued (see photograph).
